War is coming

While the American news media is obsessed with tearing down Donald Trump and heralding yet another collection of Olympic Gold Medals, America's most devoted enemies are quietly improving relations with one another. This past week the foundations have been laid for a new era of economic, political, and military cooperation between Iran, Russia, China, and North Korea. These are the stories the American media should be telling. Instead, our entire media, for whatever reason, has been reduced to a propaganda arm of the Democratic Party. Even Fox News, once the bastion of conservative news and commentary, has drifted into stories and opinion pieces focused on criticizing their rivals rather than reporting and analyzing the events happening all around us.

As the European Union crumbles beneath the loss of Great Britain, an impossible debt burden, a surge of radical Islamist terrorism designed to render it impotent, and a NATO alliance that has been rudderless since the collapse of the U.S.S.R., Russia and China have begun setting aside their centuries-old animosity for one another. At the same time, China has been drawing North Korea closer to itself while Russia has been building deep economic and military ties with Iran. This is what happens when the American CIA, controlled by a delusional utopian president, focuses on monitoring our allies rather than working to increase existing divisions between our enemies. President Obama has shown over and over again that he has no concern for what is happening in Russia, in China, in Iran, in North Korea, or in Cuba. Instead, he orders our intelligence services to wiretap EU offices, download Angela Merkel's itinerary from her mobile phone, prosecute FIFA executives for bribery crimes that occur in Europe and South America, and build a brand new American embassy in Havana.

Everyone in American journalism is asking the wrong questions. I don't know if they have all suddenly become incompetent or if they are intentionally avoiding the real stories going on all around us. Perhaps they believe everyone in America shares Barack Obama's lack of interest in the growing ties between our sworn enemies, the impact of $400 million in illicit cash when distributed through the world's terror underground, or how China's militarization of the shipping lanes between the Pacific and Taiwan affects American naval strategy. Regardless of the reason why, the fact remains, none of the stories above have appeared in American media. Even the Voice of America story above is directed to the world audience as a convenient tool for studying English rather than a potentially explosive news report.

It does not matter whether Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump becomes the next president. Whoever wins will be faced with a world on the verge of global thermonuclear war. China is not militarizing the South China sea to fight piracy. They are laying the groundwork for an invasion of Taiwan. Turkey's President Recep Tayyin Erdogan, thanks to a failed military coup, now commands the most loyal military of any Turkish president since the post-World War Two rise to power of Adnan Menderes. Barely a month after consolidating his newfound control over the military, the first major external move he makes is to mend and strengthen ties with Russia rather than NATO. At the exact same moment as Russian and Turkish officials meet to discuss strengthening their relationship, a train loaded with Russian tanks pulls into the Crimean Peninsula in Southern Ukraine. These events happening here and how, as Barack Obama winds down his presidency and the American people get into drunken bar fights over who should be the next president, is not a coincidence.

Sometime soon, possibly as soon as February 2017, North Korean tanks will blast their way across the DMZ and descend on Seoul. If Hillary Clinton is elected, they might wait until February 2018, but 2017 would be strategically much better for them. America will have a brand new president in the White House. If the president is Hillary Clinton, then she will be preoccupied with currying money for her charity foundation from anyone and everyone who seeks leverage over the American presidency. If the president is Donald Trump, then everything will be in chaos as he struggles to learn the complexities of his new job, gather qualified senior bureaucrats for the vast apparatus of our federal government, appoint new diplomats to all of our allies, and mend the relationships with Congress that he is currently destroying through his highly negative campaign strategy. It will take no more than seven days for those tanks to reach the outskirts of Seoul, and possibly only three. Once America is deeply involved in defending South Korea, China will move to retake Taiwan, Russia will move into all of Eastern Europe, and Iran will launch bombing raids on Israel. Either just before or just after that day, Russia will destroy every East Coast military establishment in the United States in a sudden, unexpected nuclear first strike while China will do the same in the Pacific and along the West Coast.

I hope I am wrong. I hope the most contentious and childish presidential campaign in American history ends quietly, the new president has amble time to take over administration of the federal government and learn the role of Commander in Chief, and next year the nation learns to accept our new role as the number three superpower. For that is what we will be. By the time the new president takes office, Russia and China will have become the two prominent superpowers in the world and the United States will have fallen to number three.

Hillary Clinton as president will not mind in the least. She will find herself right at home in such a global climate. She will immediately use her charitable foundation to solicit money and favors from all of our enemies in exchange for influence over federal government policy making. After all, that is what she has spent her entire professional career doing, swapping influence for cash, and as president she will have even greater influence to offer so naturally she will be able to command even greater amounts for "speaking fees" for her husband. If American patriots object, she will confiscate their firearms. Mass confiscation will provide her many bloody opportunities to justify replacing the current 68% percent minority prison population previously convicted of "non-violent" crimes with patriotic "domestic terrorists". Instead of a global thermonuclear war, America will find itself in the throes of a violent, bloody rebellion. Naturally, this will free Russia and China to take whatever military actions they feel are necessary to consolidate their new diplomatic and economic position. The only real question will be how long their newfound friendship will last. Five years? Perhaps a decade? If the world is very lucky, a full score of years will pass before the relationship dissolves. By that time there will be no United States left to convince them to settle their differences diplomatically and war will be inevitable.

However, if Donald Trump wins in November, then our enemies will find themselves on a very strict timetable. It will take about a year for Donald Trump to learn what his new role actually entails. Most likely, his first priority will be domestic policy, so globally he will seek some kind of temporary agreements with both China and Russia to give himself time to fix those federal policies that have made his life as a real estate developer far more complicated than he would like. He will enact new policies that will help Ivanka expand her fashion business and help his son have an easier time managing Trump, Llc. At first, Russia and China will gladly agree to this reprieve in rhetoric aimed at their economic and diplomatic policies. After all, they will not quite be ready to go to war as early as February 2017. Another year to position personnel, equipment, and supplies will benefit them greatly. But North Korea needs the Han River frozen solid to launch their attack on the south, so they will move in February 2018, or perhaps 2019 at the latest. Either way, the months that follow will unfold exactly the same: nuclear strikes on America, invasions of Taiwan and Eastern Europe, bombing raids on Israel.

Let me say once again, I hope I am wrong.

RIP Mike Vanderboegh

Sipsey Street Irregulars: A Patriot has passed on today
The Kansas City Star: Longtime militia and Patriot leader Mike Vanderboegh dies at 64

His passing will not garner massive headlines in newspapers across the country. It won't be mentioned on the network and cable news programs. Like many of the greatest men of the past century, his passing will not even merit a footnote in future histories of the decline and fall of the United States of America. I owe him a great debt that can never be repaid and I've never even met the man. You owe him an even greater debt. Unless you are one of the few who recognize his name, you don't even realize the debt you carry.

I started this blog back in 2003. The Twin Towers had been destroyed, America had invaded both Afghanistan and Iraq. Al Qaeda had passed from an unknown group of disgruntled Saudi nationals into the most feared terror organization in the world. Those were difficult days, and things have only gotten worse.

A short time after I started writing this blog, Blogger added the strip at the top of the page that with a simple click allows anyone to explore the tens of thousands of blogs carried on their servers. One of the first blogs I landed on was an obscure firearms blog called, "Sipsey Street Irregulars" that featured a serialized novel about the collapse of the American nation and the rise of patriot militias. The novel itself never really caught my interest, but the politics and opinion pieces the blogger wrote in between chapters of his novel fascinated me and started me on a research path that continues to this day. I have never been one to adopt wholesale the opinions of another person, so naturally I did not become one of Mike Vanderboegh's sometimes sycophantic "Three Percenters", but I did travel further down the paths he pointed out to see what I could find on my own.

In the end, that was Mike Vanderboegh's greatest contribution in the war to return America to the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. He did not demand, belittle, or begrudge. He pointed out the path and left it up to each reader to determine how far down it they went and where it took them. Neither conspiracy believer nor pure academic, he had instead a powerful strategic mind that could foresee the long term consequences of short term compromises. He never assumed. He researched and postulated.

I, for one, will miss his razor wit and his clear-minded analysis. Too few in the Second Amendment advocacy movement understand the full consequences of their actions, leading them into areas and behaviors Mike Vanderboegh routinely railed against. The fact that we have not yet had an incident of mass casualties between federal law enforcement and radical Second Amendment advocates can be placed squarely at his feet. He cast an aura of caution and reason over the movement that other leaders are sadly lacking. It is difficult to predict how the movement will fare now that his unifying and calming presence are removed from the scene.

Rest in peace, Mike Vanderboegh. You've earned it and more. If St. Peter gives you any gruff at Heaven's Gate, just refer him to me and I'll be happy to vouch for you.

Horrific video emerges of bus attack

This video showed up in my Facebook newsfeed. I can confirm neither the date nor the location. However, most reports have it occurring in Paris on August 2, 2016. I have yet to see it reported on CNNj. As of this writing, it has not appeared on any of the online news sites I normally use. Clearly, it did occur. The bus is a fairly modern version, the neighborhood is a modern city.

I first began warning of these kinds of attacks in March 2009 (Brian's Meandering Mind: A Deadly, Persistent Swarm of Gnats). I can no longer even count how many of these attacks we have seen. They have occurred in Paris, in San Bernardino, in Orlando, in Kabul, and dozens of other cities throughout the world. This kind of attack is becoming an almost daily occurrence. As I have said over and over again, there is only one way to effectively stop these attacks: an armed and trained populace.

There are many people around the world who are sympathetic to the goals of ISIS, Hamas, Boko Haram, and all of the other radical Islamic terror groups. There are approximately 1.8 billion Muslims in our world and if only 2% of them are sympathetic to the goals of the terrorists then the terrorists have the second largest standing army in the world. In addition, there are millions of non-Muslims who for a variety of reasons admire and respect the terrorists, comparing them to historic revolutionaries in the United States, France, Russia, China, and Rhodesia.

Let that sink in. Think about it. The second largest standing army in the world. There are at least 36 million potential Muslim and non-Muslim terrorists living right now in every big city, small town, isolated village, and rural neighborhood in the world. The internet has bound the world together in ways that benefit billions of entrepreneurs, educators, charities, and everyday people. The most common electronic appliance in the world is a smart phone. Somewhere around 2 billion people carry smartphones capable of connecting to the internet and communicating with anyone who has an internet connection. This is a very good thing. However, like any technology, it can be used by criminals and terrorists just as easily as it can by honest people. Good people are using the internet everyday to make their lives easier and more enjoyable. At the same time, criminals and terrorists are using the internet to recruit the gullible, organize global logistics, and plan their next action. This is not going to change. It is going to become more and more common as the internet becomes more and more useful.

Sooner or later, in your hometown, armed terrorists are going to storm the building where you work, the shopping center where you buy your daily goods, a sporting event you have spent weeks waiting to attend, or a concert by your favorite band. One person, three people, or even a dozen, when armed with ordinary handguns, rifles, and homemade explosives, can create an unimaginable amount of death and destruction in a very short time. We have seen this clearly in France on multiple occasions over the past two years. The tighter France locks itself down, the more militarized its police force becomes, and the harder it is for ordinary citizens to defend themselves, the more frequently these attacks occur. The French government is doing everything recommended by every expert on the planet and all it has achieved is to place France second only to Iraq in terms of the sheer numbers of people killed by terrorists over the past two years.

Back in the 1960s, when radical Islamic terror was born and first began developing swarm techniques, Israel suffered multiple terror attacks on a daily basis. Every single day dozens of Israelis were dying in small attacks around the country. In response, Israel did exactly what all the experts recommended. They built walls, they militarized their police force, they increased police presence, and still the attacks grew more bloody and more frequent. So Israel developed a concealed carry program for ordinary citizens alongside an open carry program for certain groups of people. Handguns and assault rifles became fashion accessories almost overnight. People added shiny pocket pistols to their evening gowns, carried semi-automatic handguns in their backpacks, and came up with colorful decorative patterns for the rifles slung over their shoulders when they went to the park or went shopping. In a matter of months, swarm attacks stopped completely. Israel has now become one of the safest places in the world to live, despite the presence of two terrorist armies on her borders.

In 1973, at the Munich Olympics, the terrorists took their campaign global. Half a century later we now have so many organized terror groups around the world that nobody, not even Mossad, the CIA, and MI-5, know exactly how many there are. New groups, using the internet to recruit and organize, are forming almost everyday. Friends meet in college where they learn they share a common hatred of the modern world and a longing for the simplicity of a Shari'a based society. Then, a few years later, they walk into a Paris concert hall together and slaughter over a hundred people. This is never going to end. It is going to continue for decades, possibly for centuries. There have always been, and there will always be, discontented men and women looking for some means to strike out against society at large. Sometimes they form organized crime families and sometimes they form terrorist groups. Sometimes the crime families and terrorist groups join forces to form revolutionary armies.

Now, more than ever before, we need ordinary, everyday people to have the freedom to learn how to use firearms effectively and then to carry a firearm with them everywhere they go. Pacifism is a wonderful philosophy that should always be encouraged, but we must not shackle and restrict the ordinary warriors and heroes willing to respond to a bad situation and bring it immediately to an end. Police are responsible for analyzing the results of crime after it occurs, then hunting down and capturing the criminals. A military is responsible for defending a nation against attack, or attacking another nation which has become a threat. However, neither force can be everywhere all the time. Ordinary people have to be prepared, equipped, and willing to defend their own lives. Yes, even in the modern world!

Human nature does not change. There will always be criminals and terrorists. Given the chance, these two groups will then go on to join forces and become revolutionary armies. The only possible way to counter this process and cut it off at the source is to empower ordinary citizens to protect themselves because dead criminals cannot form gangs, terror groups, or revolutionary armies. No, I am not saying ordinary citizens should be hunting down criminals and murdering the murderers. Of course not! However, when a crime is committed, the first person on the scene is the victim. If the victim kills or wounds the criminal, then the crime is stopped and the criminal is unlikely to continue down the path to gangster, terrorist, or revolutionary.

A trained, armed populace will neither stop nor prevent all crime and terror. There can be no utopia because humans will always be humans and some humans will always become criminals or terrorists. However, an armed and trained populace will minimize the opportunities of criminals and terrorists to work their trade. Minimizing the amount of evil in the world is the most realistic goal any society can have. To achieve that goal, we must have a police force, a military, and an armed populace. It is only when these three work hand-in-hand that the violence and destruction of evil men and women can be minimized.
